  • Year Restriction

    Less than four years old.

  • Steering wheel position

    Right-hand drive vehicles are only permitted to be imported.

    No inspection is required

  • Duties and taxes

    Duties and taxes depend on the vehicle's engine capacity:


    Up to 1599 cc: 25% Import Duty, 15% VAT

    1600 cc to 2000 cc: 35% Import Duty, 15% VAT

    2001 cc to 3000 cc: 40 % Import Duty, 15% VAT

    3000 cc and above: 45% Import Duty, 15% VAT

  • Registration of an imported vehicle

    Firstly, the car owner should drive to VMCOTT to inspect the tire. 


    Then, the car owner should visit the Licensing Office and receive a License Plate. 

  • NB

    It is allowed for an individual to import only 1 vehicle every three years.

    If the imported car is intended to be used as a taxi, the age of the car should be less than 3 years from the manufacture date.
